Pulmonary Function Testing
Pulmonary function testing is a diagnostic test that entails breathing in and out of a tube to measure inspiratory and expiratory breath function. This test primary indentifies a patient's lung impairment and assists a pulmonologist in proper respiratory diagnosis. It can also show how well and how fast a patient can breathing in and blow out air.
Pulmonary function testing at Pulmonary Practice Associates is administered by one of our registered respiratory therapists. This test allows our physicians to gain a better understanding of a patient's lung capacity and restrictions, if any. This test can also assist in determining the effectiveness of respiratory medications by performing pre-medicated and post-medicated pulmonary function testing.
